Approach to Care

My approach to care is a blend of conventional nutrition therapy and functional medicine with emphasis on brain retraining.

Often times our chronic disease is dramatically worsened by states of severe fight and flight response and nervous system shutdown. This loop keeps us feeling depleted and our brains stuck in threat mode. Questioning the alarm bell that something is wrong with us and noticing our present moment safety is essential to healing, while also making the brave choice to live life and embrace uncertainty in spite of our symptoms.

Medication, diet and lifestyle changes are an important part or bringing inflammation down. I will provide protocols to stabilize mast cells taking into consideration the unique situation each individual presents.

When the mast cells are stable and limbic system is regulated we can tackle the root cause of the dysfunction. Even a disease as chaotic and mysterious as MCAS will begin to have order and make sense.

Healing does not begin with a test, a treatment plan, or a medication. It begins with feeling safe. -Dr. Jill Carnahan

Meet your Provider

For many years I worked in settings counseling and educating patients with chronic disease and health concerns. But it was not until I found myself with a complex and chronic health problem that I truly felt passionate and valuable as a provider. After navigating MCAS, neuroinflammation, gut dysbiosis, and chronic stress response I came to discover what true healing is, and how to help guide others in their journey to health.

The sickness can take away your life and at the same breadth show someone how strong and resilient they truly are – revealing beauty in the ordinary that could not be recognized any other way. It is the bodies ultimate message to surrender and transform – an attempt to discover what true safety really is.
