Services

MCAS Root Cause Nutrition and Health focuses on stabilizing someone with highly reactive mast cells to a diet and eating pattern that can begin to switch the body back into a state of equilibrium. We will focus on reducing food and environmental triggers, stabilize blood sugars, and increase vagal tone so your gut can relearn safety with food intake. We will also focus on stabilizing the mast cells via supplements, medications, and limbic system retraining. Sometimes our biggest barrier to healing is the unconscious belief that we are not safe in the body – cannot trust it – or that it is against us. Questioning our beliefs about healing, feelings of hopelessness, or alarm bell that “something is seriously wrong” can be the missing piece to the unwavering life force we desire.

Because of the complex nature of MCAS it is helpful to have a primary care doctor in place if stronger mast cell medications, antibiotics, and further blood work are needed. Additional if psychiatric symptoms or extreme sleep disruptions are occurring having a psychiatrist on board is an important addition to the team.

Lab testing and interpretation: Lab testing used is to better understand and treat the root cause may include GI mapping, SIBO testing, nutrition deficiency evaluation, gut permeability, general basic lab panel. These test are typical not covered by insurance are are ordered through third party testing agencies. Some can be reimbursed by PPO.

Nervous System Regulation Tools and Techniques: Identifying difference between MCAS flare versus chronic stress response, polyvagal mapping, vagus nerve toning, brain retraining, somatic awareness, and questioning our thoughts .

Medical Nutrition Therapy Tools and Techniques: Mindful eating practices, nutrition counseling, meal planning, supplementation, blood sugar control, education on low histamine diets, low fodmap, and anti-inflammatory, food reintroduction, correcting nutrient deficiencies.
